Review by hotel critic
Hotel Alpenstuben in Hohenschwangau is a hidden gem nestled between the two royal castles of Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein. From the moment we arrived, the Schönauer-Wacker family and their team made us feel like royalty, attending to our every need with grace and warmth. the newly created alpine garden offered breathtaking views of Neuschwanstein Castle, providing the perfect backdrop for a relaxing afternoon. Our room, a spacious family suite, was impeccably clean and cozy, with a direct view of the castle from our balcony. the comfortable beds and thoughtful amenities made our stay truly indulgent. the friendly staff even provided each of us with our own soap in the shower, a small but luxurious touch that set the tone for the entire experience. We dined at the hotel's restaurant and were delighted by the culinary delights on offer. the chefs' dedication to using fresh, local ingredients shone through in each dish, from traditional Bavarian favorites to innovative reinterpretations. the alpine garden terrace was the ideal spot to savor our meals while taking in the royal views of the castle and mountains. For leisure and sport enthusiasts, the hotel's central location offers an array of activities, from hiking and cycling to hang-gliding and paragliding. the ticket office for castle tours is conveniently located next door, making exploring the area's rich cultural heritage a breeze. In conclusion, Hotel Alpenstuben exceeded our expectations in every way. Whether you seek a tranquil retreat in the heart of the Bavarian Alps or a base for exploring the region's historical treasures, this hotel is a true haven of luxury and relaxation. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable and pampering getaway in Hohenschwangau.
